I hope too many of you have not been back to check on Chuck only to find no new posts. I am sure some of you are worried about the outcome of all of this ordeal with him. I can happily report that Chuck is doing great! I am limited on time these days and that is why I haven't posted. Here are some quick points about how things have been going.
1. The pit bull dogs were spotted by us and reported to animal control about 8 times in a three or four week period. Each time they were spotted, animal control was called.
2. Each time animal control was called they sent one of their officers ( for lack of a better word) out to get a verbal or written statement from us. Each time they said if you see them you call us and we will come out. If we( animal control) see the dogs we will pick them up.
3. We called animal control because the dogs were out and they came and saw one of the dogs in the front yard. Which is a violation of the "Dangerous dog order" that I forgot to mention to you. There were 2 seperate citations issued to the pit bull owners in a 4 day period for a $100.00 fine each. Just the fact that the officer saw the dog in the front obligates him to pick up the dog. Instead, when the officer called the dog and the dog ran away from him instead of jumping happily into the waiting arms of the officer, the officer dropped the issue and never came back to get the dog.
4. The last time that we called them out they told us "We will have to bring you a paper to fill out, then you will have to go downtown to the court house and file it. Then a pick up order will be given for us to come and get them. Needless to say that just further reinforced the fact that the Davidson County animal control is an incompetent worthless piss ass waste of our tax dollars since this was the first time any of them ever mentioned anything about having to take my valuable time to run all over the damn county delivering papers to judges about things that we were told were going to be handled with a simple phone call. It's just their way to not have to do anything until everyone has been inconvenienced to the inth degree.
5. The son of the people that have the dogs has come to town and is supposed to be taking charge of the situation and even moving some of the people out of the house and is supposedly moving the dogs to a farm somewhere on the other side of the county. We have heard so much untrue crap out of those people though so we will have to wait and see what actually happens. I do have to say though that since that dude showed up the dogs have only been seen once or twice. Hopefully it will all work out.
6. Chuck is a great house dog but he is more than ready to resume his full time outside life. We are waiting for confirmation that the dogs or the people are gone.
7. We are no longer looking for donations for Chuck. Thanks to everyone who gave their money to him.
8. I will try to be a better poster in the future. More to come...
